Day 3: Opening Hearts 2006-11-16 Today I held a human heart in my two hands. What a priviledge. Probably not many people get to do this in their life times. A lot of them probably also do not want to. Regardless, I am honored. More about him: His heart is covered with practically no fat. It is beyond description how clean his heart and great vessels are. Suffice it to say that we did not have any need to clean or define the heart at all--not a single piece of fat to remove. After we cut the heart open, the inside is just as clean and healthy. This is not the norm. In fact, this is very rare. His heart is probably healthier than mine! Therefore, it remains a mystery as to what brought about his death. We are now guessing that maybe his wife poisoned him. He has just way too perfect and fit a body to have died. Although venturing onwards to GI might change things.
