Day 4: Eat and Breathe
2006-11-17

Today we cut open the trachea and traced out the esophagus. We also did a lot of other defining and cleaning in the superior and posterior mediastinum. Fun.

It is pretty crazy that they make us give these ten-minute on site presentations that need to cover material that should take more than 1 hour to cover. I don't even know how it is possible. Bascially, one needs to be talking at faster-than-lightening speed. Or fail. Joy.

After lab: Liver rounds was fun. :) I think its funny that school has these kind of all-you-can-drink events. It is almost like endorsing drinking and promoting the development of alcoholism in medical professionals.

First exam of anatomy on Monday. I am about 300 pages of reading behind, and that's not even to say that I will understand what I read. Haha. I'm so good in this falling-behind business I should go pro. :)

One small note on him:

He might have a herniated disk or a mild case of scoliosis. But he probably remains the healthiest cadaver in lab. He has now been labelled by the instructor to be the textbook specimen. We just got lucky, I guess.
