Day 8: Loop De Loop 2006-11-30 From 7AM to 11PM, I was home for a total of 2 minutes. Jam packed day. Same tomorrow, probably even more so. But tomorrow will be for a different reason. Partying again when I really should not. We emptied his abdominal cavity today. Took it all out. Cut open the stomach and sections of the small intestine and large intestines. We got lucky with the intestinal contents, or lack thereof. Let me just say that other teams were not nearly as lucky with their intestinal contents. I was talking to a classmate yesterday and he said "I have been so impressed with our medical school experience so far. I'm loving life right now. Life is good." That was just the reminder that I needed. I totally echo his sentiment. Everything has been so demanding, so challenging, yet so very fulfilling and rewarding. Sleep is gradually becoming a luxury. But I am loving life right now.
