Destination 13: The Sailing Capitol
2007-01-01

The train ride: Everytime I am in a train, I realize how much I love travelling. I never thought I would say this, but I miss my life for the last two years. I miss travelling and seeing the world and having the luxury of time to observe life, to read, to relax. I have not travelled more than I did in the 2005/6 school year. And travelling almost always gives me a new and grander perspective on life. It opens my eyes and expands my mind. I also miss shooting. Captures moments and pieces of life that is beautiful. And most of all, actually, I realized how much i miss riding in a train. I find the experience quite exhilarating.

America: This thought occurred to me as the train was going through the ghettos between Baltimore and Annapolis: A lot of people all over the world idolize America. I remember that even my friends back in Sweden thought America was the coolest thing in the world. If only they realized that the US is not all sparkles and glitters.

Food: We ate gelato at Aromi D'Italia, and lunch at this Deli place that was packed that Q Bun spotted, because she's good at spotting good food. Was fun.

Dock: Sitting by the water on the dock was relaxing. I really have not relaxed like this for a long time. I told myself I would not do any work at all for 2.5 days, and I enjoyed it. But now I have to start. Sitting a the dock, we saw this dad and his son playing. They were so adorable. I always like to watch parents interact with their little children. It makes me smile and warms my heart.

Main Street: Annapolis is very pretty, homely, relaxed, and, most importantly, safe. I definitely want to come back in the summer.

Sitting Around: We just picked a random bench and sat there for a long time talking and laughing ourselves silly. There is nothing like a good friend. Q Bun actually just left. School starts tomorrow. I think I am in denial for both things. Life will go on. I have work coming out my wazoo now that I have done absolutely no work for so long. Too busy to feel sad.

The New Year: First we thought we were going to end up spending New Year's Eve in the JHH cafeteria. We went to get some food, and a cafeteria staff asked me if I had a boyfriend and if he can have my number. Then we ended going to a party, and then spent the first 1.5 hours of 2007 waiting for the cab, in the rain, and getting chased around by homeless people. I just have to say this was an unusual way to ring in the new year for me.

In any case, must go now.

Hello 2007.

"You have to be nice to 2007 for 2007 to be nice to you."

~Q Bun
